The Toronto 2017 North American Indigenous Games will showcase and celebrate the distinct cultural heritage of Indigenous communities across Turtle Island and of the Province of Ontario – as the lands encompassing the City of Toronto and Region of Hamilton share deep, historical roots to Indigenous populations of the region.

Cultural and sporting events of the Toronto 2017 NAIG will proudly be held on the distinct traditional territories of the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation, Mississaugas of Scugog Island, Six Nations of the Grand River, Huron-Wendat, and on the traditional homelands of the Métis Nation of Ontario.
